In 2011-2, I spent nine months in Las Cruces, New Mexico at which time I met many wonderful musicians. Dr. William Clark was instrumental in mentoring me back into music by introducing me to musicians and educators in the area. As a result, I performed an entire season with the Mesilla Valley Community Band; performed Poem by Charles T. Griffes with the Mesilla Valley Concert Band; I began performing with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Lonnie Klein; and, I performed most services with the Ciudad Juarez Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Carlos Garcia. I subsequently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Learning program in New Mexico State University where I am designing music courses with an online delivery. Finally, Dr. Clark urged me to audition for a doctorate program to study flute performance at the University of Arizona with Dr. Brian Luce. I am accepted and plan to begin my studies in the fall of 2013. My heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. Clark for believing in me. Thank you Dr. Clark!
